Arbonne RE9 Advanced Skin Care System Review

About 8 weeks ago I was asked by Arbonne consultant Ashley Rudiger to review the Arbonne RE9 Advanced Skin System. I had been wanting to try a great skin care line for some time, however, I tend to be leery of MLM companies since I used to be in one (not Arbonne), and didn't really like some of the things that they do. I decided I would go ahead and try out the line and I am so happy I did!

Below is my review video for the line. Please note that I am not an Arbonne consultant, so this review is completely unbiased. Also, please email Ashley (who is an Arbonne consultant) for samples or more in HERE.

Here are my photos taken at 1 week, 3 weeks and 6 weeks of using the products. I apologize that the lighting isn't the same in all of them, as I didn't want to alter the photos in any way. This is me, no makeup, and if you look closely, you can see the diminished lines around my eyes. I honestly was shocked when I saw this!

Interview With Child Development Expert Dr. LeVos

I recently was able to chat with child development expert Dr. Jody Sherman LeVos about her thoughts on today's top educational toys, and how they can be great learning tools for your child.
With the holiday season fast approaching, I wanted to bring my readers expert advice to help them when deciding what toys to buy this year for their children.

Here is the video with my phone interview with Dr. LeVos:

I recently was able to review Marley Lilly's Cashmere Feel Scarf in the Black and Brown Chevron Blocks pattern, and when it arrived I was shocked at how soft it was. It's 100% acrylic, but it feels just like cashmere. If you have wool/cashmere allergy issues then this is the perfect alternative. This scarf is 12 inches wide by 70 inches long, making it the perfect length for a great scarf. They also have a very informative YouTube video showing you the different ways that you can wear the scarf so you can still see your monogram.
I am a huge chevron fan right now, and the black and brown chevron block pattern is super cute and perfect for my fall and winter wardrobe.

Below is my video review, and make sure you watch the video to find out how you can WIN your very own Cashmere Feel Scarf from Marley Lilly!!!!

Fall Leaves Votive Jar

I love Fall and so does my 5 year old daughter Grace. I wanted to find a project for her and I to do together that involved pretty Fall leaves from our area.

I came across some Pinterest pins of different ideas, and found a couple of Fall leaves votive jars. Most were done with fake leaves, so I decided Grace and I would make one with real leaves.

Grace had a blast finding the leaves and collecting them in an old pretzel container. When we came inside I grabbed my Mod Podge, brush and Mason jar and we got started.
Here is how you make this lovely Fall leaves votive jar:

First, make sure you have a bunch of leaves that are vibrant in color, but still can be bent without breaking.
Second, grab your Mod Podge in Matte, a brush and a jar of your choice. I used a large Mason Jar that I had on hand.

Third, Pick out the leaves that you think will fit best on your jar, and cover your jar in Mod Podge. Then stick each leaf on your jar as you wish.
After you have placed your leaves on the jar, apply a layer of Mod Podge over the leaves and jar.
I applied 2-3 coats (letting each one dry before applying the next) to make sure my leaves stayed stuck to the jar.
Lastly, I added a small votive candle to the jar and viola...a beautiful fall votive jar for my table.
Now go make one! :)

Doc McStuffins Dress Up Costume

My daughter's current favorite show is Disney's Doc McStuffins. This year she wanted so badly to dress as Doc McStuffins for a church fall festival, so I started looking online for a Doc McStuffins costume.....with absolutely no luck at all!
She already owned the Doc McStuffins Doctor's Bag Play Set and the Doctor's lab coat, so I decided I needed to find the different pieces to complete the outfit. Let me just say this was no easy task. Here is how I did it:

  1. I purchased the pink skirt on Ebay for $0.88, but you can purchase the one in the photo above at Target.
  2. The shoes were also from Ebay (Pink Converse) however, she is wearing a pair of light pink sparkly shoes that she already owned. The pink converse shoes were too big, but nice to have for when she grows into them.
  3. The leggings were almost impossible to find, but I finally found them on Ebay HERE.
  4. The purple striped shirt was also incredibly hard to find, but I found one HERE.
  5. The Doctor's White Lab Coat I bought on Amazon, which she's had for a couple of years.
  6. There are plenty of "Doc McStuffins" headbands on Etsy, but since I used to make girls headbands, I already had the pink flower (you can probably find them at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.) The purple sparkly headband I found on Amazon for $2.99 HERE.

So that's it. I thought I'd share that with anyone who was interested in making the costume, but had no idea where to get the pieces. It's not the cheapest costume, but it's stink'n adorable and well made so she can wear it over and over (and over) again.

SebaMed Review & GIVEAWAY!

SebaMed offers clinically tested (over 150 clinical studies), dermatologist recommended skin care that has a pH balance of exactly 5.5 which is vital for healthy skin.

Any other pH level, such as found in soap, may leave your skin susceptible to breakdown and irritation. A newborn's skin lacks the natural hydrolipid protective barrier which is established during the first few months of life. This is why your baby's skin care is so important!

SebaMed was gracious enough to send me their baby skin care line to try as well as two products from the Sensitive Skin care line.
I used the Baby line on my 2 year old twins and 5 year old and I used the Sensitive line on myself for 30 days.

Here is my YouTube video review and please watch the video to find out how you can WIN the entire SeBaMed Baby Line!

Our Skin is our largest organ...let's take care of it! SebaMed is a great start!

Natural Wood Cleaner & Polish

My twin boys are so rough on my furniture, especially my wood coffee table. They've scratched it, chipped it, and get their Gold Fish fingers all over it on a daily basis. I wanted to buy some wood polish to clean it and spruce it up a bit, but I know traditional wood polish is full of dangerous chemicals. Since the boys touch and even climb on top of the coffee table daily, I wanted to find an all natural alternative to the store bought wood polish.
Here's my coffee table before I cleaned and polished it (Yes, I know..ewe):

Here is a simple solution for great looking wood furniture and floors without all the harsh chemicals.

Here's the recipe:
1 gallon of hot water
3/4 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup lemon juice

Mix it up the best you can in a mop bucket and use a mop for the floors, or I used a soft rag for the coffee table.

When I first wiped the coffee table, I noticed a slight film like in the photo below:

Just take a soft cloth/rag and buff the wood until it shines:
Shiny, clean, and as pretty as this tired old coffee table it going to get.

Give it a try and let me know your thoughts.  :)
